1746 newspaper w PEACE TERMS to END Early American Colonial War incl SLAVE TRADE 1746 newspaper with PEACE TERMS to END “KING GEORGE’S WAR” an Early American Colonial War – and includes control of THE ATLANTIC AFRICAN SLAVE TRADE – inv # 5X-347 Please visit our EBAY STORE for THOUSANDS MORE HISTORICAL NEWSPAPERS for SALE or at auction SEE PHOTO(s) – COMPLETE ORIGINAL NEWSPAPER, the Northampton Mercury (ENGLAND) dated June 30, 1746. This original 275 year old newspaper contains terms for ending the 3rd Colonial American War, known as KING GEORGE’S WAR in the British North American Colonies (known as the War of the Austrian Succession in Europe). This list of proposed terms for ending the war contains one term allowing the British to control the Atlantic Slave Trade between Africa and the Americas. Another term of the proposed peace treaty includes cession of land in America west of the Mississippi River by France to Spain and Great Britain. King George’s War (1744–1748) is the name given to the military operations in North America that formed part of the War of the Austrian Succession (1740–1748). It was the third of the four French and Indian Wars. It took place primarily in the British provinces of New York, Massachusetts Bay (which included Maine as well as Massachusetts at the time), New Hampshire (which included Vermont at the time), and Nova Scotia. Its most significant action was an expedition organized by Massachusetts Governor William Shirley that besieged and ultimately captured the French fortress of Louisbourg, on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, in 1745. In French, it is known as the Troisième Guerre Intercoloniale or Third Intercolonial War. The Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle ended the war in 1748 and restored Louisbourg to France, but failed to resolve any outstanding territorial issues. Excellent condition. This listing includes the complete entire original newspaper, NOT just a clipping or a page of it. STEPHEN A.
